Three all-rounders MI should retain ahead of auction

InsideSport takes a look at the list of all-rounders that MI can retain ahead of the IPL 2026.

All-rounders are perhaps the most-valued players in the IPL, and when it comes to retaining or releasing among that lot, it could just be the hardest task for the management and the franchise. Mumbai Indians do have a decent pool of all-rounders as well, and ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, they will have to come up with a list of retained players too.

So, InsideSport takes a look at the list of all-rounders that MI can retain ahead of the IPL 2026.

MI all-rounder retention list for IPL 2026

Will Jacks: This English player had a deep impact in the last season for MI. Not only he scored runs, but also showed he has a knack of picking up wickets. Bought for 5.25 Cr, MI would want to persist with him, given he scored 233 runs and also picked up 6 wickets, with his economy being under 9.

Mitchell Santner: Bought for 2 Cr, the Kiwi player might not come as the most flamboyant characters, but then just does the job. He may not be even part of playing XIs, but to have a solid back up like him, could mean a lot to MI. He picked up 10 wickets in 13 matches, and scored 40 runs. His batting form off-late has been quite good, and in a T20I vs WI, scored 55 from 28 deliveries.

Raj Bawa: It would be fair to say, that MI gave Hardik Pandya to India, and then now they have to develop Bawa in a similar way. He is a fast-bowling all-rounder who has immense potential and should be retained by the team. In 23 T20s he has scored 316 and picked up 22 wickets as well.

*(Hardik Pandya is an automatic choice, and hence not included in the list)
