Sarfaraz Khan clarifies ‘there is no frustration’, despite repeated India snub

If there is one player who deserves to be in the Indian Test team setup, it is Sarfaraz Khan. But for reasons unknown, he has been out of the squad for a year now. IN fact, despite going to Australia, he did not get a game there. Sarfaraz is a heavy scorer in domestic cricket, and his record screams selection.

‘One Cannot Score Runs Every Single Match’

What perhaps could have gone against him, was his fitness levels. But then a few months back, he lost a considerable amount of weight, and yet has been ignored. But despite all this, he has maintained, that he isn’t “frustrated at all”. On Saturday, he opened up on the struggle. “I do not think I need to change anything because I am doing well. I have always played a lot of balls (in training) and even now I try to practice as much as I can,” Sarfaraz told the media.

“One cannot score runs in every single match. The past four seasons have been good, and sometimes a batter loses his wicket despite playing well. But we can always get back to scoring runs,” he added.

Sarfaraz Khan Opens up on India Snub

Sarfaraz made it very clear, that thee was no frustration despite the India snub, and is confident of a comeback. “There is no frustration at all. If you look at my record, I have scored a lot of runs. People have one season in four years where they make a thousand runs, but maine chaar-paanch saal daba ke runs banaye hain (I have made plenty of runs for 4-5 years),” he said.

His record in international cricket hasn’t been bad either. In the six matches he has played for the team, he has scored 371 runs, including three fifties and a ton, at an average of 37. In FC cricket, his numbers are colossal. In 59 matches he has amassed 4796 runs at an average of 63.
