The first IND vs SA Test starts on November 14 in Kolkata, while the second match will be played in Guwahati.
The IND vs SA Test series is just three days away, the hosts have started their preparations already, days after returning from Australia. IN what seemed like an optional practice session, the likes of Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Sai Sudharsan, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar, and Nitish Kumar Reddy were a part of it, as per RevSportz.
Sai Sudharsan has extended nets session
The session started with coach Gautam Gambhir being joined by Sitanshu Kotak, and Morne Morkel, who inspected the pitch fo 10 minutes. Post that, Gambhir had a word with curator Sujan Mukherjee as well. Coming into the first Test, the biggest challenge that India has is, should they play Dhruv Jurel as a pure batter with Rishabh Pant, or should Sudharsan continue.
At least, nothing was confirmed from this practice session, with Gill, Jaiswal and Sudharsan heading to the nets. IN fact, Sai Su had an extended batting session at the centre wicket, with Gambhir joining later, focusing on the batter’s leg-side play. Sundar and Jaddu bowled to Jaiswal on the adjacent wicket, the report further stated.
Jasprit Bumrah seen with knee strapping
Meanwhile, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah started things off slowly, and spent half an hour for his warm-up. Post that he bowled with a short run-up and returned to the dressing room. The bowler was spotted with strapping on his right knee, but there wasn’t much to make of it, as he returned for spot bowling, in the presence of Morkel and Gambhir.
India Test squad: Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant (WK) (VC), Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep.
