Pakistan’s PSL stars lift Hong Kong Sixes Trophy, take a dig at retired Indian players

A bunch of PSL players went on to lift the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 Trophy, after beating Kuwait in final.

Finally, Pakistan cricket sees a good day, as a handful of their players managed to lift the Hong Kong Sixes Trophy on Sunday, after beating Kuwait in the final by a big margin. What was even more outstanding is the fact, that it happens to be their sixth title in the championship overall.

PAK’s failed attempt of taking a dig at IND players

But then again, they tried to troll the Indian team, which backfired. So, it all started on November 7, when India beat Pakistan in their group game, by a narrow margin. To this, IND skipper Dinesh Karthik had gone on to write, “Fun start to Hong Kong Sixes, Winning against Pak.”

After winning the title, Pakistan squad member Muhammad Shahzad then hit back by saying, “Fun end to the Hong Kong Sixes, Business as usual.” Here, what the all-rounder did forget was — that all their players are currently playing in the PSL, while the Indian members are in their late 30s or 40s, and even retired.

Beat Kuwait to win Hong Kong Sixes

Now, let’s take a look at the Pakistani team, and compare it to the Indian. Shahzad is only 21, plays for Islamabad in PSL. Maaz Sadaqat is 20, and plays for Peshawar. Shahid Aziz in 22 and plays for Multan. Abbas Afridi is an experienced international player, aged 24, and also plays for Karachi. Khawaja Muhammad Nafay and Abdul Samad (from Faisalabad), are active PSL players too.

On the other hand, Karthik has taken a coaching role with RCB, and is 40-years-old. Stuart Binny is 41, Bharat Chipli is 42, Abhimanyu Mithun and Shabaz Nadeen 36, Priyank Panchal 35 and Robin Uthappa 39. As discussed earlier, the embarrassing part is, the Pakistan team lost to the Indian side.

In that encounter, India had scored 86 in their 6 overs, while the opposition could manage 41 in 3 overs, in a rain-curtailed match, losing by 2 runs (DLS method).
