The Ford government is expected to complete its annual budget on Thursday afternoon, revealing how Ontario plans to sail in an economy shaken by the prices of US President Donald Trump.
Around 4 p.m., the Minister of Finance Peter Bethlenfalvy will increase in the Ontario Legislative Assembly to deposit the critical economic document.
The budget establishes the government’s spending plans and priorities for the coming year, ranging from financing health care to tax incentives and infrastructure projects.
It also includes significant indicators for the health of the provincial economy, such as projected growth, debt and the number of new houses built in the province.
During last week, the Ford government has teased some of the new policies that should be included in the budget.
The announcements included a plan to make the public part of Highway 407 at no cost next month, a permanent reduction in petrol tax and $ 300 million for primary care.
Bethlenfalvy also announced a tax credit for manufacturing worth $ 1.3 billion over three years. The latter is probably one of the many measures of the price relating to prices.

The Prime Minister of Ontario Doug Ford – whose government had seemed could be on the way to the balance of the budget – suggested prices had changed this reality.
“We have to look at it through a different objective now, because these prices have been put on us,” said Ford on Wednesday, the day before the budget should be filed.
“What I can say is that you have two options in a budget: you can start cutting and pouring, what I never believed; in more difficult times, you go there, you put money in the infrastructure, keeping the construction … We can always balance in a year or two.”
Ford compared the pricing threat to the pandemic, when governments spent tens of billions of dollars in emergency responses.
The tariff responses that strengthen the economy and protect workers must be included in the budget, said the NPD.
“This budget is a test to know if this government will choose to strengthen Ontario and build a future abroad on vanity projects and delay critical infrastructure projects, and if they will adopt a united approach to offer comfort, help and results that Ontarians need at the moment,” said NDP chief Marit Stiles.
Ontario Liberals call on the government to consider a considerable increase in health spending in the upcoming budget.
“This budget is a test,” said Bonnie Crombie, leader of the Ontario Liberal Party. “Doug Ford can either present a plan that invests in people, or it can continue to waste public money on well -connected initiates.”
The Greens called for a new housing thrust in the budget and measures to protect agricultural land.
