Only two Aussies retained, Harleen released

Gujarat Giants have retained 2 players before the WPL 2026 auction. Owned by Adani Group, Gujarat have never managed to play a WPL final. In fact, they finished last in the first two seasons. At WPL 2025, they did finish in the top three but were eliminated by eventual champions MI. GG, along with UPW, are reportedly in favour of a mega auction in order to revamp the side ahead of WPL 2026.

Gujarat Giants released players list before WPL 2026 auction

Laura Wolvaardt, Phoebe Litchfield, Harleen Deol, Dayalan Hemalatha, Bharti Fulmali, Kashvee Gautam, Tanuja Kanwar, Meghna Singh, Mannat Kashyap, Priya Mishra, Sayali Satghare, Shabnam Shakil, Simran Shaikh, Deandra Dottin, Danielle Gibson, Prakashika Naik

Each franchise was allowed to retain five players – three Indian capped players, two overseas players, or two uncapped Indian players. If a team decided to retain all five, then at least one must be an uncapped Indian player.

The WPL Auction is slated to take place on November 27 in Delhi, and the BCCI has informed all the franchises about the same, as per Sportstar. To be precise, the event will be held in a hotel in Aerocity, close to the city’s airport.
