At the intersection of passion, creativity, and gritty engineering, lives a story that defines dedication. His inspiring journey not only caught the attention of fans but also of Krafton India Esports, who invited him as a special guest for the BMPS 2025 Grand Finale—the ultimate celebration of mobile esports in India. We caught up with Karan during the event to talk about his journey, the challenges of crafting a video game vehicle in the real world, and balancing a demanding day job with big dreams.

Karan Kargwal – The Man behind the real-life BGMI Buggy

Q: As we all know, you’re a passionate gamer. How did you start playing BGMI, and what do you love most about it?

Karan: I’ve been playing BGMI for a long time now. Even before that, I used to play popular games like Grand Theft Auto. What kept me hooked to BGMI is the multiplayer aspect—it’s fun to play with friends in squads of 2 or 4. It becomes more than just a game; it’s your time with the people you vibe with.

Q: This buggy you’ve built is incredible. How did the idea of making it in real life come to you?

Karan: I work as a Velder technician at Indian Railways and have been in the job for five years. Every time I used the Buggy in BGMI, I would imagine riding it in real life. One day I asked myself—why not make one? I took it as a challenge to sharpen my welding skills. I even invested in a welding machine just for this project. The base of the buggy comes from an old bike—I modified it to bring this vision to life.

Q: That’s amazing. How did BGMI help you in visualizing and building this buggy?

Karan: Krafton India, the team behind BGMI, supported me in making sure the buggy looked as close as possible to its in-game version. Their encouragement helped me add details that fans would instantly recognize—it had to feel like the buggy from BGMI, not just some random off-road vehicle.

Q: Considering how big BGMI esports has become, especially with events like BMPS 2025 offering crores in prize pools… have you ever thought about becoming a competitive Esports player?

Karan: Haha, honestly, I always played BGMI casually. I never imagined myself as a professional player. My interest was mostly in the creative and mechanical side of things. But I find it incredible how many underdogs are shining through such events and even representing India globally.

Q: Lastly—this buggy was just the beginning, right? Any future plans to build more vehicles from the game?

Karan: Absolutely. I won’t spill all the beans here—but something new is definitely coming soon. Stay tuned to my social media—an announcement or maybe even a new build video will drop before you know it!
