The IPL match between the kings of Punjab and the capitals of Delhi in Dharamsala was canceled halfway following aerial alerts in the neighboring cities of Jammu and Pathankot, putting the whole league in danger of being canceled due to the ongoing military conflict with India with Pakistan. The Punjab team was 122 for 1 in 10.1 letters when the lights died out, which was first attributed to the projectors’ failure. The game started later than expected due to the rain before the city of Hill fell dark.
The teams and spectators were finally evacuated from the stadium for their safety. The capacity of the picturesque soil here is around 23,000 and it was filled with around 80% at the time of the evacuation.
“There was no panic of the spectators. They (the spectators and the players) were far from the stadium very carefully and safe,” said an HPCA source in PTI.
