New Delhi: The majority of the Australian contingent plans not to come back for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) has enabled franchises to sign temporary replacements, but these players will not be eligible for detention for the next season.“The Board of Directors of the IPL and the BCCI have reworked the rules for replacing players, and the deductibles are now allowed to make replacements for unavailable players due to the current situation, because their international calendars overlap with the reproduced IPL,” said a senior BCCI in Timesofindia.com.“Thus, franchises can name replacements from now on, but these players will return to the auction swimming pool and will not be ready to be kept.”Timesofindia.com had indicated that the Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk will not come for the rest of IPL 2025which will restart on May 17, and Delhi capital had already announced Mustafizur Rahman as his replacement.
Rahman has so far played 57 IPL games and 61 counters in his name. He played 106 T20is for Bangladesh, picking up 132 counters in these matches.
