Test Cricket’s Virat Kohli’s retirement has left Indian cricket with a vacuum that cannot be filled for a long time. Already turning Ravichandran Ashwin and Rohit Sharma’s pensions, Indian test cricket has lost the services of another veteran when Kohli, through an Instagram post on May 12, announced that it would no longer continue in the longest format. That he did not want to continue in the tests was a buzz which was already strong enough in the days preceding the announcement. But when it happened, most were surprised because the reports suggest that the BCCI and several other big names had tried to convince Kohli to continue playing with the Indian tour of England from June.
Now, according to the report, Virat Kohli gave a clue that he could be returned the test captain of the Indian cricket team during the Indian tour in Australia in December-Janvier. In the sports report of Sports Today, it is said that Kohli was allowed to be heard on a return to the captain. This happened after India lost the second Adelaide test under Captain of Rohit Sharma.
“At least, people close to him seem to suggest that he had a sort of smaller clue that he would get a captain after Adelaide. But then things changed,” said the report.
Then India lost the series and the report mentioned that there was a “change of tone” and that the team management process was that he should look at a young captain. The report mentioned that Kohli still hoped to recover the captain and also played a Ranji trophy match for Delhi in February, as mandated by the BCCI. But in April, Kohli was informed that he was as a player. Then the star decided to retire.
In fact, the former India cricket player and National Sarandeep Singh selector, who is also the coach of the Delhi team, recently made superb revelations.
“There was no indication (retirement). I even heard anywhere. A few days ago, I spoke to him but I had no clue that he thought of that. The kind of IPL he has, he is in an incredible form,” said Singh.
“I asked him if he would play the county’s cricket before the test matches. He said he wanted to play two games from India” A “before the test series (against England). He was already settled.
