IN the Ranji Trophy on Monday, Mumbai secured a win, with all-rounder Shams Mulani impressive once again.

Dhruv Shorey slams twin tons for Vidarbha
Vidarbha batter Dhruv Shorey has always been among the runs in the Ranji Trophy seasons he has been a part of. But Vidarbha seems to be brining out the best in him. After scoring two fifties in the last three matches, he finally made it count in the encounter vs Odisha, as he scored 144 in the first innings and then managed 101 in the second. Now, that means his side set a target of 345, with the latter needing 301 more runs on the final day.
J&K close in on win vs Delhi
Team Jammu & Kashmir could perhaps be the next big thing in the Ranji circuit. They already had a great season last year, and this year too, are turning heads. Now, they are just 124 runs away from a solid win against Delhi. In the first innings Auqib Nabi took a fifer, while Paras Dogra slammed a ton, and in the second, Vanshaj Sharma took six wickets.
Skipper Mayank Agarwal steps up for Karnataka
Karnataka’s Mayank did not have the best of starts to the Ranji Trophy this year, and in three matches had managed just one fifty. But when his team needed him the most, he first scored 80 in the first innings, and then is unbeaten on 64 in the second. At the end of day’s play, Karnataka are 144/5. and are most likely to win points on the basis of first innings lead.
Shams Mulani can’t be ignored any further
Take out any Mumbai match in Ranji, in the last two years, and one name who would have the most consistent performances is, Shams Mulani. The all-rounder has been a prolific performer now. In the Himachal Pradesh encounter too, he scored 69 runs in the first innings, and then returned with 7 wickets in the match, including a fifer, to take his side to and innings and 120-run win.
