Three all-rounders CSK should retain ahead of auction

InsideSport takes a look at the list of all-rounders that CSK can retain ahead of the IPL 2026.

Team CSK have been struggling for the last couple of years, and have been falling short of making it to the playoffs. Usually, a successful team in the IPL, the unit famous for MS Dhoni largely, is struggling to compile a squad, that can not only serve them in the short-run, but even long-run.

All-rounders are backbone of any side, and that is the case with CSK as well. Now, with the IPL retention deadline set at November 15, the team is going to struggle to choose between the players; who to retain and who to release. InsideSport takes a look at the all-rounders that the team should retain ahead of IPL 2026 auction.

CSK all-rounder retention list for IPL 2026

Sam Curran: The English all-rounder is a utility player. He scored one fifty for the team in IPL 2025, and picked up a wicket too, in the five matches he played. He has the potential to do much better, if given a consistent run. He gets retained over Shivam Dube, since the Indian doesn’t tend to bowl in the IPL.

Ravindra Jadeja: There are reports suggesting that the trade deal between CSK and RR for Sanju Samson/Jadeja is confirmed, but logic stays, Chennai should retain their Mr. Dependable. He has scored 2354 runs and bagged 152 wickets for the franchise, in 200 matches.

Ramakrishna Ghosh: This retention could be a little out-of-box. This Maharashtra all-rounder isn’t very famous in the IPL circles, but can be a utility player. In the Ranji Trophy, he recently came up with a couple of 30 plus scores, and bowls well too. T20 record, for now, isn’t the most impressive though.
