As per reports, CSK are ready to trade Ravindra Jadeja for Sanju Samson but RR want another player included as a part of the deal
Chennai Super Kings are ready to trade Ravindra Jadeja for Sanju Samson ahead of IPL 2026, reports have claimed. Previously, the Kerala keeper-batter was linked with trade talks between both franchises but those talks were called off as the two franchises were in disagreement with respect to the trade terms. However, now it has come to light that both teams are seriously pursuing the trade talks, with RR being ready but having another condition.
Samson-Jadeja trade between CSK-RR all but confirmed
As per Cricbuzz, while the deal to trade Jadeja for Samson is not confirmed, both CSK and RR are seriously in talks about the deal. The report claims that while deal for both players – who are worth Rs 18 crore could have been sealed by now – RR are reluctant for a straight swap. The report claims that Royals are insisting on the inclusion of another player as a part of the deal.
The report claims that RR want the second player included in the deal to be Dewald Brevis. The South African was roped in by CSK mid-way through IPL 2025 after going unsold in the mega auction. CSK reportedly are staunch on the fact that they will include no other player in the trade deal between Samson and Jadeja.
Jadeja has been a part of CSK since 2012, after making his IPL debut with RR and then moving to Kochi. The Cricbuzz reports claim that the five-time champions consulted the all-rounder before starting trade talks with RR. The report claims that Royals owner Manoj Badale is currently present in Mumbai and is leading the negotiations in the trade deal with CSK.
Additionally, the report states that the ball is currently in RR’s court. The deadline for the teams to finalize on their retentions is less than a week away – November 15.
