Interview Q&A With Jabali.ai Founder Vatsal
Q: How did you start Jabali.ai? What specific gap or problem in the gaming industry inspired you to launch Jabali.ai?
A: I began my journey in video games about 15 years ago, starting at Zynga when the company had just around 200 people. As Zynga grew successful, I led corporate strategy and mobile growth initiatives. During that time, I saw how mobile games were becoming more social, with people increasingly playing with friends on Facebook.
Much like how we capture videos or photos to share with friends — which don’t need to be perfect or commercial — games can also be a form of personal expression. I worked on simulation games such as Farm Story, which had millions of downloads, but I still felt that self-expression in gaming was far from fully unlocked.
Later, at Facebook and AWS, my work focused on enabling professional studios to make better games. That’s when I realized the real barrier: creating a game is both extremely expensive and technically challenging. It can require a multi-million-dollar budget, large teams, and deep technical expertise — making it inaccessible to most people.
At Jabali.ai, we aim to change that. Our platform makes creating games as easy as taking a photo or making a short video. Over the last decade, I’ve seen countless gamers use games as a way to express themselves or tell stories, but the gap between gamers and game developers remains massive. That gap — and the opportunity to close it — is exactly what we’re targeting.

Q: What types of games or experiences have been successfully prototyped or built on your AI platform so far?
A: We made the platform publicly available in March/April, and it is currently accessible as a web platform. Since then, more than 2,500 games have been created and published on it.
We’ve seen users build a wide variety of games — from character simulators to arcade and casual games — spanning around 20 different categories. Importantly, many users are coming back to create multiple games, which is a strong validation of the platform’s appeal and ease of use.
Q: Why did you choose India as a major market for Jabali.ai’s growth?
A: Our mission is to enable game creation for everyone. We focus on empowering people to create games at a personal level first, and then explore commercialization opportunities. India is one of the most exciting markets for gaming. People here now have easy access to mobile devices and web browsers, and many are playing games for the very first time — let alone creating them.
With our platform, Non-Gamers, Game developers Gen Z and gamers can not only create their own games but also share them, learn the fundamentals of game-making, and explore economic opportunities in the space. The younger audience is just beginning its journey with games, and the barriers to entry are now lower than ever. You no longer need a million-dollar budget to make a game — you can build one right on our platform.
Q: How do you balance AI-generated creativity with human design intent in game development?
A: Humans are always in control. When creating a game on our platform, you begin with a prompt. Behind the scenes, around 5–10 different AIs — such as a game programmer AI, game designer AI, artistic AI, story writer AI, and more — work together to bring your idea to life.
These AIs generate an initial version of the game based on your prompt, but you have full control to edit, refine, and adjust anything that doesn’t align with your vision. This flexibility applies both during the creation process and after the game is completed, ensuring that human creativity and intent remain at the core of the final product.
Q: For a first-time user, what is the onboarding experience like on your platform?
A: The onboarding process is designed to be simple and intuitive. You just visit our website, enter a prompt — and that’s it. We also offer the option to upload your own story, whether it’s from a book, images, or any other source you’d like to bring into your game. Within about 10 minutes, your game is ready to play. From there, you can return at any time to make edits, add new elements, or refine your creation.
