Priyansh Arya had just 50 runs in the first three innings. Now he has clubbed a century for Outer Delhi Warriors.
Three games into the Delhi Premier League 2025, Priyansh Arya’s campaign had been stuck in neutral. The left-hander had scraped together just 50 runs at a modest strike rate, looking a shadow of the free-flowing batter who lit up the inaugural season and later took the IPL by storm with Punjab Kings. But under some scorching heat against a high-flying East Delhi Riders outfit, Arya rediscovered his touch in spectacular style, hammering his first Delhi Premier League century.
Priyansh Arya masterclass
Opening the innings after the early loss of Sanat Sangwan in the first over, Arya began quietly with a single, then opened up a crisp boundary to get moving. Partnering with Karan Garg, he built momentum steadily before launching into full attack mode.
The pair added 92 runs in just 46 balls, a stand that shifted the tone of the innings. Garg’s dismissal for 43 could have stalled the charge, but Arya only doubled down.
Against pacers, he plundered 60 runs off 30 deliveries at a strike rate of 200. Spinners fared no better, conceding 51 runs from just 26 balls to the left-hander.
Arya brought up his hundred in the 17th over, raising his bat after a 52-ball masterclass that featured nine towering sixes and clean, authoritative strokes through the arc. He eventually fell for 111 off 56 balls to Akhil Chaudhary, but by then the damage was done. Outer Delhi Warriors surged to 231 in their 20 overs.
