The former first round choice and the triple third goal player from the stars, Evan Longoria, will announce his retirement in a Tampa Bay Rays match next month.
Longoria, 39, retired as a radius during a pre-match ceremony on June 7 before a match against the Miami marlins on a visit.
Longoria played for the last time in the majors of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 season, a race which included the second appearance of the World Series in his career. He was at the end of the twice.
He played 10 seasons with the Rays (2008-17) before five seasons with the Giants of San Francisco (2018-22).
Longoria finished with an average of .264, 342 circuits, 1,930 strokes and 1,159 points produced in 1,986 games on 16 seasons.
He was appointed recruit of the American league year with the Rays in 2008, the same year, he led the team to the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. He is also winner of Gold Glove.
The Rays wrote Longoria n ° 3 in total in 2006 from Cal State Long Beach.
