The BCCI decided on Monday to take over the IPL season on six sites from May 17 with the final scheduled for June 3 in accordance with the revised calendar. The IPL was interrupted on May 8 after the match between the Kings of Punjab and the Capitals of Delhi was canceled after Pakistan tried to invade Indian airspace near Chandigarh, forcing a power failure in the stadium. However, the managers of the board of directors decided to take over the league after India and Pakistan, accepting a cease-fire in their border conflict.
“BCCI is pleased to announce the resumption of the TATA IPL 2025. After numerous consultations with the government and the security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the council decided to proceed to the rest of the season,” the council said.
Here is the revised IPL 2025 calendar in full:
The first match on the resumption of the League will be between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru on May 17.
The six sites for championship matches in accordance with the revised calendar will be: Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
The sites of the playoffs will be announced on a later date.
However, the dates of the playoff matches were announced and according to the calendar, the qualifier 1 will be held on May 29 followed by the eliminator on May 30.
The qualifier 2 will be played on June 1, followed by the match for the title two days later.
In total, 17 games will be played on six sites and the revised calendar includes two double heads, which will be played on Sunday.
Availability of foreign players
Several foreign players have contracted with the IPL franchises left for their respective countries of origin and some were in transit, after the suspension of the league.
Now, the teams will have to enjoy them, at least as much as possible, before May 17. However, some players could stay back, especially those who have bad guys.
The return plans of the Australian stimulator Josh Hazlewood, who play for RCB, could be affected by a lightness which forced him to sit the home match against the Super Kings of Chennai.
However, it remains to be seen how many Australian and South African regulars return to the League given the probability that they will present themselves in the final of the world championship in Lord’s, from June 11.
Pat Cummins (SRH), Kagiso Rabada (GT), etc. There are some of the names that are respectively first-line test players in Australia and South Africa.
Clash with India a tour in England
The revised IPL dates also come up against India planned for a tour of England where they will face the Lions in two four -day games of May 30 and June 6.
Some of the players and pretenders of first -choice tests should be chosen in India a team before the tour of the senior team in England, from June 20.
We are waiting to see how the BCCI will approach this disparity while India a team will be announced in a day or two.
