The Dallas cowboys acquired the Large George Pickens receiver from Pittsburgh Steelers in an exchange Wednesday in exchange for selection compensation.
Going to Dallas with Pickens is a sixth round choice in the NFL 2026 draft, while the Steelers will receive a third -round selection in 2026 and a fifth round choice in 2027.
The cowboys had sought another high -end to associate with the selection of the Pro Bowl four times Ceedee Lamb, which had 66 more targets last season than the next closest member to the team (winger tight Jake Ferguson). Lamb led the club in catches (101) and yards upon receipt (1,194) to accompany six affected.
This decision comes six months after Dallas acquired the Large Jonathan Mingo receiver and a choice of seventh round of the NFL 2025 recovery from the Carolina Panthers for a selection of fourth round in the same project.
The Steelers, in turn, acquired the wide receiver DK Metcalf of Seattle Seahawks on March 9. The twice selection of Pro Bowl then signed an agreement of $ 132 million over four years with Pittsburgh.
The Steelers are still waiting for a response from the quarter-rear of Aaron Rodgers to find out if he will sign with Pittsburgh.
Pickens, 24, managed 59 captures for 900 yards with three touchdown in 14 games last season. There remains a season that remains on his recruit contract and should become a free agent next March.
Pickens recently seemed to be distant from the Steelers, now unsubscribe from the team on social networks.
Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin told the journalists in January of Pickens that “there is certainly more room for growth there”.
Pickens has 174 receptions for 2,841 yards with 12 scores in 48 career games since he was selected by the Steelers in the second round of the NFL 2022 draft.
