5 Bowlers PBKS should retain for IPL 2026

Punjab Kings have one of the best squads on paper for now, and look to retain most of their players in the IPL 2026 retention.

Another day closer to the IPL 2026 retention list announcement, and PBKS looks like the team, who could have the most number of retentions. That is simply because, the Punjab management finally managed to compile a squad earlier this year, that not only looks great on paper, but can go on to serve them for a few years.

For now, InsideSport takes a look at the PBKS bowlers who should be retained ahead of IPL 2026 auction.

Bowlers PBKS should retain ahead of IPL Auction 2026

Arshdeep Singh: Since 2019, he has only played for PBKS, and gone on to pick 97 wickets in 82 matches. He was retained for 18 Cr in 2025, and should be retained once again too.

Harpreet Brar: He happens to be one of those bowlers who slips under the radar. He does not even play all the matches for PBKS, and isn’t a thorough wicket-taker, but it is his IPL economy of 8, that makes him a total asset.

Yash Thakur: He just played two matches for the franchise last year, but has been a consistent domestic performer, who can develop into a better bowler. His name should be under consideration.

Marco Jansen: Could very well qualify as an all-rounder, but bowling is definitely his stronger suit. So, in that regard, he is a must-have in the team. In 14 matches in IPL 2025, he picked up 16 wickets.

Lockie Ferguson: The Kiwi pacer got injured after four matches in the season, but his pace really makes him one big threat. He should be retained, and persisted with.
